Cozy games for when you just want to switch off
Not every session needs to be a challenge. Some evenings I just want a game that asks nothing of me except attention, and there's a whole quiet corner of mobile gaming built for exactly that.
Lantern Hollow is my current favourite here. It's an adventure with no combat, just exploration and gentle puzzles wrapped in beautiful art. I played it in one calm evening and it left me in a genuinely good mood, which is rare for a phone game.
Big Bass Fishin lands in this bucket too, oddly enough. There's a meditative rhythm to casting and waiting that turns off the noisy part of your brain. It became my low-effort go-to whenever I wanted something to do with my hands.
The common thread is that these games remove pressure. No lives, no countdowns, no daily login guilt. If you've been feeling burned out by games that treat playing like a chore, this is where to look.
